With more than 20.000 international couples who visit Denmark to have their big day here every year, we decided to build this magazine to give you inspiration for your Danish elopement.

When Leanne from Getting Married in Denmark asked me to talk about Pride and LGBTQIA weddings, I felt really privileged to have the opportunity to use this space to talk about such topics. This also shows Getting Married in Denmark’s commitment towards creating a better world for us all, which makes me very proud to collaborate with them.
My name is Martina (she/her), wedding and elopement photographer based in Copenhagen, Denmark. And I’m queer.

“Well, to put it simply, we absolutely LOVED Denmark, we were impressed by how happy, warm and welcoming everybody is, first in Copenhagen, but then meeting people during our trip, from Odense, Svendborg and ultimately Ærø, we still can not believe how nice everybody is/was.
We still feel nostalgic about the island, such a unique and special place, we want to come back some day, it is a core memory for us.
Our special day was beautiful, we were able to meet other couples during the wedding day, the personnel at the town hall was awesome, and the ceremony felt solemn and beautiful.
Our celebration was to just walk around the town and go for some DELICIOUS pulled pork sandwiches, and I (Carlos) tried a chai latte for the first time, I loved it! Food was 10/10 every day in all locations.
As our journey with your team comes to a successful close, we find ourselves both happy for the result and a bit sad that this wonderful collaboration is ending. It has been a true pleasure working with you.
We are deeply grateful for the amazing job you all did, not only for the seamless execution but also for the consistently kind and professional communication. We will certainly be recommending your services to any friends looking to get married in Denmark.”

Elena and Sid had a very beautiful and happy day in Denmark. They got married in Christiansfeld with a small group of friends that came with them to share their special day. They told us their ceremony was short yet lovely and they were celebrated and treated with a lot of care. ❤️
After their ceremony they drove to Aabanraa and found a restaurant by the beach to celebrate.

A little throwback to Mariya & Marko`s wedding dinner at @landbogaarden in Ærøskøbing. 🇩🇰
This restaurant opened its doors on Tuesday evenings through November for couples who married on Ærø, giving them a truly authentic Danish wedding celebration.
And it wasn`t just dinner. The evening was filled with Danish wedding traditions, toasts that ended in kisses, surprises that had couples kissing under tables and standing on chairs, and a wedding cake where every couple cut their own slice. All hosted by the wonderful Gertrude and her family.
In Mariya`s words: "Almost like a real wedding dinner. We were well fed and created amazing memories."
Moments like these are what make getting married in Denmark so special. ❤️

Nadine and Tim came from Germany and were married at Ringkøbing town hall this March. We love these pictures of them on their very special day - and we utterly love the bubbles! 🫧
This is such a wonderful alternative to confetti - much kinder to the environment (and the town hall staff), and looks so magical and fun, don’t you think?!
Nadine and Tim told us “We just wanted to let you know that our wedding today was absolutely wonderful and everything went off without a hitch. Thank you so much again to all of you who made it possible.”
