APRIL 2024

What: Copenhagen Sakura Festival

Where: Langelinie Park

When: 20 – 21 April

This is a gorgeous festival dedicated to celebrating the beautiful Sakura blossom trees of Japan, planted in Langelinie Park in Copenhagen. It’s a festival that gives a beautiful nod to Japanese culture and is a great event.

MAY 2024

What: Copenhagen Marathon

Where: Copenhagen

When: Sunday 5th May

Every year this is a popular event in Copenhagen, with more than 10,000 runners taking to the streets to run the Copenhagen marathon. Do be aware that Copenhagen will be busier than usual over this weekend, roads will be cordoned off for the run and hotels and restaurants will get booked up in advance.

What: Jazz at Tivoli

Where: Tivoli Gardens

When: Every Wednesday in May, June and August 2024

If you love Jazz and you’re going to be in the capital on a Wednesday evening between May and August, then this is a great opportunity for you to settle down and enjoy an evening of Jazz.

There will be a monthly ‘theme’ to the jazz performances and each jazz artist will be accompanied by the Tivoli ensemble and conductor Peter Jensen. Just imagine the scene, it’s the day before your wedding and a balmy summer’s eve, you have something fizzy in hand and find yourself soaking up Denmark’s finest jazz acts. So romantic!

Tickets are just the entry cost into Tivoli. Check out Tivoli’s website for more info!

What: Distortion Festival

Where: Copenhagen

When: Weds 29th May – Sunday 2nd June

Ok, so this is a big one! Distortion Festival is a GREAT festival held in various areas of the city centre over the space of 5 days. It is affectionately known as ‘Copenhagen’s biggest street party’ and plays host to a large number of exciting new and upcoming music artists and always boasts huge numbers of festival goers! Around 100,000 people attend the festival so as you can tell, is very popular! It is great fun but do be aware that it will take over a lot of the city, with huge crowds everywhere.

If this is not your scene then you may want to consider a wedding date that does not fall within these dates as the festival will literally be taking over the streets of Copenhagen.
