To our valued customers,
We are writing to inform you of a temporary email delivery issue currently affecting users of Microsoft email services, including Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.com.
What is happening?
Following a systems update by Microsoft on July 9th, their filters are, in some cases, incorrectly flagging legitimate emails from us as “Phishing.”
This causes our messages—including “free documentation list” emails, payment receipts, but also emails to customers we have previously have been in contact with for days, weeks or months —to be sent directly to your Junk or Spam folder.
Critical Issue: Replying to Our Emails
This Microsoft filtering issue has a second, more critical effect: it may also prevent your emails from reaching our team.
Whether you are replying to a previous conversation (even one in your inbox) or sending a brand new email to our address, the message may be blocked by Microsoft’s systems.
Crucially, you will likely not receive a bounce-back or failure notification. This can lead you to believe we have received your message when we have not.
What You Can Do Right Now
To ensure you can both receive our communications and contact us successfully, we’ve outlined the necessary steps below.
To Receive Our Emails
- Check your Junk Folder: Please look for any emails from us in your “Junk Email” folder.
- Mark our Emails as “Not Spam”: When you find an email from us, it is crucial that you report it as safe. This helps teach Microsoft’s system that our emails are legitimate and should be in your inbox.
- Open the email from your Junk folder.
- In the warning banner at the top, click the “Report” button.
- From the dropdown menu, select “Not Spam”.
To Ensure We Receive Your Emails
As sending messages from an Outlook, Hotmail, or Live account is currently unreliable, we strongly recommend one of the following methods to contact us:
- Use an alternative email account: Send your message to us at [email protected] from a non-Microsoft email address (e.g., Gmail, Yahoo, etc.).
- Use our website contact form: This is the most reliable way to get in touch. Click here to go to our contact page.
Need to Contact Us?
Given that email replies are currently unreliable, the best way to contact our team is by using the secure Contact Form on our website.
We sincerely apologize for the significant inconvenience and confusion this Microsoft issue is causing. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to get it fixed.
Thank you,
The Getting Married in Denmark Team
