This is for those of you who wish to be actively involved in the Danish marriage application process, but want to ensure that you and your partner will get the documentation right, fully understand how to navigate the application system, and lower the chance of long delays.

The Marriage Application Process with the Danish Government

You will be working with our Marriage Application Team, who’ll get to know you and define the detailed list of documents for your case
We inform you how and where you can get your documents legalised (only if required)
You email us the documents specified in the detailed documentation list
We check and prepare your documents to ensure they meet the requirements of the Danish government and are formatted the way the AFL wants to receive them
We send to you a copy of your documents, prepared by us, together with the instructions which will guide you on exactly how to submit the marriage application to the Danish government
You submit the marriage application online to the Danish government
You pay the online submission fee of 282€ to the Danish government upon submission
You communicate with the Danish government when required

We guide you on how to book your wedding ceremony at your selected town hall
You book the ceremony at your selected town hall
You keep updated with the town hall

Before & After your Wedding Day

You plan your stay, but we are still available for you should you have any questions about anything further, up to and after your wedding day

This is a service we provide after your wedding in Denmark.

There is no time frame on when you can take our Apostille Service; it can be taken immediately after your wedding or years after.

It is for those couples who will be using their wedding with their respective governments after their wedding, e.g. to register the marriage or to apply for a spousal visa, and will need that extra layer of ‘legalisation’ on their marriage certificate.

We do not have to have helped you with your wedding in Denmark for you to take this service.

You send your marriage certificate/s to our Apostille team (we will give you information on how to do this)
Once we receive your certificate/s we will then hand deliver them to the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will check the information on your certificates after which they will affix the Apostille ‘stamp’ onto the back of your certificate/s
We will then return your certificate/s back to you at an address of your choice* via a tracked courier service

*The Apostille Service fee only covers the return to one address. An extra fee is incurred to cover the courier costs back to 2 separate addresses.

Mi esposo es español y yo soy peruana. Desde el inicio sabíamos que queríamos llevar los papeles con una agencia y, después de leer opiniones en muchas páginas web, decidimos hacerlo con Getting Married in Denmark. La verdad, fue la mejor decisión que hicimos para empezar a planear nuestra boda en Dinamarca.

Desde el primer momento, luego de contratar el "Complete Service", nos asesoraron en todo y fueron muy amables y pacientes. Siempre responden rápido y con mucha profesionalidad. Nosotros queríamos casarnos en el ayuntamiento de Copenhague y, aunque es cierto que no te pueden asegurar un lugar, sí es verdad que apenas te dan el permiso te dicen cuál es la disponibilidad en el ayuntamiento que quieras. En nuestro caso, fueron muy rápidos y, después de hablar con nosotros, lograron reservar 1 de las 3 fechas que había disponibles en el ayuntamiento de Copenhague en ese momento.

Estamos muy felices, la boda fue genial y, si tuviéramos que hacerlo todo de nuevo, lo volveríamos a llevar con esta agencia. También nos apostillaron los certificados de matrimonio y demoraron solo dos días en enviárnoslos desde la boda (a otro país).

We are a couple from different countries and currently living abroad, so dealing with marriage bureaucracy where we reside would have been complicated and time-consuming. Choosing to get married in Denmark was honestly the best shortcut and decision we made.

The Getting Married in Denmark team was very responsive, gave clear instructions at every step, and everything was well organized. We always knew what to do next, which made the whole process smooth.

From the first contact to the wedding day and even the apostille process, everything was stress-free and surprisingly chill. We received our apostilled wedding certificate safely just one day after returning home.

Wir sind von der Agentur "Getting Married in Denmark" absolut begeistert und können diese Agentur wirklich jedem heiratswilligen Paar empfehlen. Von dem ersten Kontakt, bei der Beratung und Zusammenstellung der erforderlichen Unterlagen, der Betreuung über den gesamten Zeitraum sowie der eigentlichen Heirat, alle Mitarbeiter von "GMiD" mit denen wir Kontakt waren, waren absolut kompetent und professionell. Wir haben uns erst Mitte Januar dazu entschieden in Dänemark zu heiraten und knapp 2 Monate später, am 12. März 2026, war es dann soweit.

Like every other couple, planning to get married in another country sounds scary, tedious, and overwhelming. Thankfully, getting married was always with us to answer any questions and every little detail, and in the end, everything was wonderful. I'm so glad that we chose the full package because they took care of everything; we just needed to be there and get married. Now I can say I am happily married.
