Describe your wedding photography style in less than 10 words.
Moody, authentic, intimate, earthy colours, adventurous, down to earth.
How did you get into wedding photography?
Kind of by accident. I borrowed a camera from a friend in high school back in 2010 and in 2014 I shot my first wedding for some family. I liked the rush, the love, the engagement and, not to forget, the appreciation! You are dealing with people on the biggest day of their lives! So much responsibility! It’s important to remember that important and lifechanging affairs like weddings and elopements are fun!
What inspires you as a wedding photographer?
When I am alone with my couples and within 5 minutes it feels like we been friends for years; they share their lives with you! That’s why I love being a wedding photographer.
What are you favourite types of places to shoot pictures of a couple?
Tough questions! If we had mountains in Denmark, I would say mountains! But I guess my favourite is a lake surrounded by woods! I do also love industrial areas!
Which is your favourite picture of yourself and who took it?
Can I say myself? Self-portraits FTW! Well, my profile picture on Facebook is probably on the top 3. It was taken by my girlfriend when we worked together as volunteers in Cape Town, South Africa.
What tricks do you use to help nervous couples relax for their pictures?
Most of the time I am just that funny! Haha okay, maybe not that funny, but I sure help to keep a dialogue going with the couple and then photograph in short sessions. Taking some photos and showing them to the couple often helps a lot. Sometimes I use prompts! The effect is hilarious most of the time. I like making one partner whisper vegetables to the other partner in their sexiest way! ? It’s so much fun and always helps the couple have fun after a little bit of awkwardness.
What do you feel are the key things that make the perfect wedding portrait?
Having the couple feel totally comfortable! When I feel they have my trust they open up in a whole new way! That’s when it becomes authentic and intimate!
What is your dream location for a wedding shoot?
Tough question! I have so many places! I would love a sunrise shoot in Yosemite National Park! In Europe I would love to visit The Faroe Island or Iceland.
What do you like to do when you’re not working on photography?
I love to eat! I eat a lot! But also watching Netflix, spend time with my girlfriend (and soon my son) and, when there is time, I love to play Playstation with my little brother ?
What is the most important advice you would give to your younger self just starting out it photography?
Have confidence in your work! Don’t doubt yourself!
