This is for you if you want to reserve your wedding date now at a private location outside the town hall on the beautiful Danish Island of Ærø and sooner than other town halls availability allows.

This also means you must be committed to working with our Documents’ Team in order to move quickly.
You must be prepared to ensure your documents meet the Danish Authorities’ requirements. To achieve this, it is vital to follow the instructions on how to provide your documents to us. These instructions are sent to you by our Documents’ Team.
The team will ask you for multiple versions of your documents, so you will need to be willing to dedicate time to this.
Application Process with the Danish Government
- You make payment and reserve your wedding date
- You will then be working with our Marriage Application Team, who’ll get to know you and define the detailed list of documents for your case
- We inform you how and where you can get your documents legalised (only if required)
- You send us the documents specified in the detailed documentation list
- We check your documents to ensure they meet the requirements of the Danish government
- You must work quickly with our documents’ team if they have additional requests regarding the provided documents
- We prepare your marriage application
Finalising your date
- If your situation has changed, your reserved wedding date can be moved if needed (applicable only for Ærø on 2 Saturdays per month*, subject to availability)
*Not including public holidays
Submission of application
- We submit your application online to the Danish government
- We pay the online application fee of €282 to the Danish government
- We communicate with the Danish government when required
- We keep track of your application until approved
- We send you your approval when received by the Danish government
Your Ceremony
- Your Saturday wedding date is already reserved, so upon approval the time of your wedding date and time will be confirmed
- Your wedding will be held at a private location on Ærø Island
- You will have the room for 30 minutes (20 minutes longer than standard ceremonies held at the Danish town halls)
- Ability to personalise your wedding by writing your own vows and saying your own readings etc.
- Witnesses will be provided
- A toast & some sweet treats will be offered to you (and your guests if you have them) to celebrate becoming newlyweds. Non alcoholic options are also available.
Before & After your Wedding Day
- You will be planning your trip and stay in Denmark
- Our Wedding Day Team can offer you tips and recommendations about your stay in Denmark
