The Copenhagen Wedding

This service is for you if you want to reserve your wedding date now at a private location outside the town hall in the city of Copenhagen. Available on Thursdays.

“Stalden” is a small barn located in Frederiksberg, a suburb of Copenhagen that is less than 10 minutes by car from the very centre of Copenhagen. As such, it is very conveniently located for those who do not want to travel far to their wedding location, once they have arrived in Denmark. 

This service ensures you can focus on preparing your application, knowing that your wedding date and location in Copenhagen is already secured. 

Our team submits over 200 applications a month, and we know all the intricacies and requirements of the AFL. Getting the application ready takes a lot of time and a lot of work, and we are here to  help guide you through this difficult part of the process. 

This does mean that you also need to be committed to working with our Documents Team in order to move quickly.

You must be prepared to ensure your documents meet the Danish Authorities’ requirements. 

To achieve this, it is vital to follow the instructions on how to provide your documents to us. These instructions are sent to you by our Documents’ Team.

The team will ask you for multiple versions of your documents, so you will need to be willing to dedicate time to this.

We secure your wedding date in Copenhagen

• You pay the initial deposit of €200 to secure the date and location.
• Upon receipt of your deposit, we will then contact the Copenhagen city hall marriage office to reserve the registrar for your wedding. They will confirm the exact time upon booking.
  If, in the unlikely event, the city hall does not have a registrar available on your desired date, then you can either choose an alternative date, or receive a full refund on the deposit you have already paid should you not wish to continue.*
  There is no refund if you choose to cancel your booking within 4 weeks of your ceremony booking.
• Once a registrar is confirmed by the city hall, you pay the remaining balance of €2340 to begin working immediately with our documents team on your application.

*The date you choose must be at least 8 weeks from the date you pay the deposit. This is due to the City Hall only allowing us to pre-reserve a date that is more than 6 weeks ahead and to allow plenty of time to get your documents and file ready and for the AFL submission and processing time. 

Please note that if your approval is not received exactly 4 weeks or more before the wedding date, the Copenhagen City Hall will cancel the pre-reservation without prior notice. No exceptions can be made by them regarding this.

• Your payment is made and your date, location and registrar are reserved. You will then be working with our Marriage Application Team, who’ll get to know you and define the detailed list of documents for your case
• Wir informieren Sie darüber, wie und wo Sie Ihre Dokumente legalisieren lassen können (falls erforderlich) 
• You send us the documents specified in the detailed documentation list 
• Wir prüfen Ihre Dokumente, um sicherzustellen, dass sie den Vorschriften der dänischen Behörden entsprechen
• You must work quickly with our Documents Team if they have additional requests regarding the provided documents
• We prepare your marriage application

Submission of application

• We submit your application online to the Danish government
• We pay the online application fee of €282 to the Danish government 
• Wir kommunizieren mit den dänischen Behörden, falls erforderlich
• Wir verfolgen den Status Ihres Antrags bis zur Genehmigung
• Wir senden Ihnen Ihre Genehmigung zu, sobald wir diese von der dänischen Regierung erhalten haben

Your Ceremony 

• Your date is already reserved, so upon receipt of your AFL approval, your wedding date and time will be re-confirmed with the Copenhagen City Hall marriage office.
• You der present your documents to the city hall marriage office, one working day prior to your ceremony. This is a non-negotiable rule of the city hall. 
• Your wedding will be held at a private venue located in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen
• You will have the room for 1 hour. 
• The registrar will stay with you for 30 minutes (20 minutes longer than standard ceremonies held at the Danish town halls)
• Ability to personalise the wedding speech with the registrar 
• You can personalise your wedding by decorating the room, writing your own vows and saying your own readings, playing music, etc.
• 2 x witnesses will be provided

Vor & nach Ihrem Hochzeitstag

• You will work with our dedicated collaborating partner, a Copenhagen-based wedding planner who has been planning weddings for couples in Denmark for many years.
• You will have access to our collaborating partners in Copenhagen; photographers, hair & beauty stylists, florists, etc. They offer our couples a discount on their services.

T&C and Refund Policy set by the Copenhagen City Hall 

• With this ceremony service, you MUST present your documents to the Copenhagen City Hall one working day prior to your ceremony date. 
• There is no refund if you cancel / move your booking within 4 weeks of your scheduled ceremony date.
