How did you get in to the hair & makeup industry?
Everything about beauty has been my passion since high school. I watched many different videos on YouTube and tried to reproduce them 🙂 Now I’m thrilled to be a professional makeup artist and hair stylist and primarily work in the wedding industry.
What inspires you as an artist?
As an artist, I draw inspiration from various sources. I often explore Pinterest, a platform that offers a wealth of creative ideas and trends. Additionally, Instagram and YouTube serve as valuable sources of inspiration, showcasing innovative makeup techniques and styles. Furthermore, observing the work of my fellow makeup artists is truly captivating, as it allows me to witness their professional growth and evolution in the field, which, in turn, motivates and informs my own artistic journey.
What is your favourite thing about helping a bride with her look?
My favorite aspect of assisting a bride with her look is witnessing the transformation and the joy on her face when she sees the final result. It’s incredibly fulfilling to be part of creating that happiness and helping make their special day even more memorable.
When was the first time you discovered makeup?
I discovered makeup when I was a child. I used to sneak into my mom’s cosmetic bag and experiment with products like blushes and lipstick. I also have fond memories of playing makeup artist with my mom, where I would apply makeup for her. These early experiences ignited my passion for makeup artistry and set me on the path to becoming a makeup artist.
Brides are sometimes nervous before their ceremony, how do you help them relax?
One key element is maintaining a calm and composed demeanor myself. Many of my clients have mentioned that I exude a relaxing energy that helps them unwind. I find that building trust and creating a comfortable atmosphere can go a long way in ensuring the bride feels at ease and ready to shine on her special day.
What do you feel are the key things that make the perfect wedding look?
The key elements of a perfect wedding look are personalization, long-lasting products, harmonious colors, collaboration with the bride, and, most importantly, boosting the bride’s confidence and enhancing her natural beauty. In addition, creating the perfect wedding look also involves maintaining a positive and joyful atmosphere to ensure the bride is in good spirits for her special day.
Where in the world would you love to go one day?
New Zealand 🙂 I’ve heard a lot of things about the extremely charming nature of this country.
What do you like to do when you’re not working on bridal hair & makeup?
I really like cycling and hiking. I also like to spend time with friends or family and play board games, but when I feel like I don’t want to go anywhere today, I will gladly spend time at home with my husband, watching movies, TV series, or playing computer games.
What is the most important advice you would give your younger self just starting out in the hair and makeup industry?
The most important advice I would give my younger self is to trust in yourself and not be afraid to begin this journey. I’d remind myself that I have a wonderful family who will always support me. I would also emphasize that, with dedication and experience, I would become a confident and skilled expert in my field, which would become evident in due time.
