This service is for you if you’re looking to reserve your wedding date now at a private location outside Copenhagen City Hall.

Verfügbarkeit 

The Copenhagen Wedding Ceremony is available on: 

  • Thursdays in April to August. 
  • Thursdays and Fridays from September to March. 


Ceremonies are available between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM. We will need to confirm venue availability for ceremonies outside these hours. No specific time can be guaranteed, as bookings depend on registrar availability. 

If you have a specific date in mind, you can choose another day of the week, but we must first check availability with the venue.

“Stalden” is a small hyggelig barn, with a capacity for 18 people, located in Frederiksberg, a neighbourhood in Copenhagen that is only 10 minutes by car from Copenhagen city hall. 

As such, it is very conveniently located for those who do not want to travel far to their wedding location, once they have arrived in Denmark. 

You will need to give us at least 3 preferred dates in order of preference and we will co-ordinate the reservation of both the venue and the private registrar for your wedding date. 

We secure your registrar in Copenhagen

  • We will coordinate with the venue to check their availability and reserve your wedding date. Once Stalden has confirmed the reservation, we will coordinate with Copenhagen city hall marriage office to reserve the registrar for your wedding. We can request a time frame but cannot guarantee it. The marriage office will confirm the exact time upon booking and is based upon the availability of the registrars.

We recommend you remain flexible with your date at this stage, in case the venue is already booked on your desired date or the city hall does not have an available registrar on the date you want. 

  • Once the date is confirmed as reserved by both the venue and the registrar at the city hall, you pay our fee of €1695.

*The date you choose must be at least 6 weeks from the date you take the service. This is due to the City Hall only allowing us to pre-reserve a date that is more than 6 weeks ahead and to allow time for the submission of your application, and the AFL’s processing time of 5 business days. 

Please note that if your approval is not received exactly 4 weeks or more before the wedding date, Copenhagen City Hall will cancel the pre-reservation without prior notice. No exceptions can be made by them regarding this. 

Submission of application

  • We submit your application online to the Danish government
  • We pay the online application fee of €282 to the Danish government

Your Ceremony 

  • Your date is already reserved, so upon receipt of your AFL approval, your wedding date and time will be re-confirmed with the Copenhagen City Hall marriage office.
  • You der present your documents to the city hall marriage office, one working day prior to your ceremony. This is a non-negotiable rule of the city hall. 
  • Your wedding will be held at a private venue located in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen
  • You will have the room for 1 hour. 
  • The registrar can stay with you for up to 30 minutes, if you choose to personalise your speech and your wedding ceremony with music and readings etc (this 20 minutes longer than standard ceremonies held at the Danish town halls). If you choose not to do this, then your ceremony will be the standard ceremony length of around 5 minutes.
  • Ability to personalise your wedding speech with the registrar. We will give them your contact details so that they can contact you in the weeks leading up to your wedding so you have the opportunity to do this.
  • 2 x witnesses will be provided if required (please let us know in advance if you need witnesses provided)
  • A toast for up to 6 people will be provided. If you are bringing more than 4 guests then an additional fee will be payable to cover the drinks for these extra people. We will put you in touch with the venue in this instance so you can pay them for any extras directly.
  • You also have the option to hire the room for longer if you wish and add in extras such as food or more drinks. Again, in this instance, we will put you in touch with the venue directly to organise this. Fees for anything additional will then be made payable to the venue.

** T&Cs and Refund Policy set by the Copenhagen City Hall 

  • With this ceremony service, you MUST present your documents to the Copenhagen City Hall one working day prior to your ceremony date. 
  • There is no refund if you cancel / move your booking within 4 weeks of your ceremony booking.
  • Witnesses are not provided by the town hall aber can be provided by the venue if required. You must let us know in advance if you need witnesses provided.
  • The ceremony can only be held in English (or Danish). If you need the ceremony to be held in any other language (including German), then you must bring an interpreter with you.

You can hire Andrea to help you plan your wedding at Stalden. You simply tell her your requirements for your day and she will give you a quote for her services. Andrea’s services include, but are not limited to, a video consultation, booking your photographer, hair & make up, flowers for you, and to be there on your wedding day, but she can help with much more, if you need.
