These two love birds are from Los Angeles where the bride, Yasmin works as a film archivist and the groom, Matt is a writer. Both having strong connections to the country, they decided on having their destination wedding in Italy at Hotel Torre di Bellosguardo, overlooking the beautiful city of Florence. The stunning and brooding images were taken by one of our favourites here at G&B, Nordica Photography.
We spent a wonderful couple of days at the Torre di Bellosguardo on the trip where we got engaged and knew it was where we’d like to be married. We wanted things to be very small and intimate; we had only Matthew’s parents, my mother (my father is deceased), Matthew’s sisters, and a few very close friends. Matthew’s father performed the ceremony, which we wrote ourselves.
Half the reason for traveling to Italy was sharing the wonderful food with our family and friends, so instead of dealing with caterers, we had a casual dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in Florence the night before (Alla Vecchia Bettola) and then a more formal meal at another favorite (Il Santo Bevitore) after the wedding. We’d arranged for cocktails before dinner at the hotel, but the staff prepared an entire antipasti course for us there as well. In fact, everything went better than we had anticipated, especially since we were doing all the planning ourselves, and from another country.
The entire trip was everything we wanted — beautiful scenery, delicious food, and a beautiful celebration of our marriage with the people we care about the most
