I made a cake this winter for my mother in laws birthday. I thought I would quickly share it with you to give some winter wedding cake inspiration.
The danes love marzipan! Here I created three layers of sponge from vanilla at the top, lighter chocolate in the middle and a deeper and stronger chocolate at the base. it’s covered generously and meticulously with ganache and then covered in a marzipan and fondant mixture. The marzipan is the dominant ingredient in this recipe and so the outer layering is not as white as it would be if it were purely fondant and has a really smooth marzipan taste which I think all ads to the rich winter feel.
This cake was seriously delish, I just couldn’t get enough of it!
