When I was getting married it was no secret to anybody, I had been talking about it incessantly the whole time I was engaged. When I started looking for a wedding dress, I freaked out! I couldn’t see anything that I liked. I started dreaming about running around looking for a dress on the day of the wedding, I spent hours looking at shops, looking online, ergh, it got ugly. I would have been happy with something borrowed or from a second hand shop and I looked there too but I really couldn’t find anything, it turned out that I’m immensely particular. Hmm.
Suddenly there was light at my darkest hour; Jenny Packham. I fell in Love with her work, total elegance. I’m quite possibly her biggest fan. I realise now that I didn’t really want a wedding dress, that was the problem and why I couldn’t find anything, I was looking for something particular and it was exactly what her design achieves. Much to the dismay of my fiance, due to the hours of researching clothing and design online, I acquired appreciation for high end fashion that I didn’t have before.
Where do I find Jenny Packham in Denmark? That was the first question that popped in to my head when I realised it was her design that I wanted to wear. Vintage Bride Copenhagen is the only boutique in the whole of Denmark to hold the Jenny Packham bridal Collection. In fact it may be the only store of it’s kind in Denmark, perhaps even further afield.
This year, Vintage Bride Copenhagen became the only dealer of Elie by Elie Saab in Scandinavia. This really is something because his dresses are absolutely exquisite and certainly, you need to be a well established and high regarded bridal boutique to be allowed to hold the brand.
Maria, the dream maker behind Vintage Bride says,
“I really enjoy hand-pick the phenomenal vintage inspired wedding gowns among my specially selected suppliers, and thus I hope that brides may find a personal and unique wedding dress for their weddings. That’s a sincere desire for me”
And that sincere desire really showed when I visited the boutique, then based in Silkeborg, Jylland. Not only in her passion and keen eye for the vintage style but the warm welcome I received and a truly lovely experience she gave me. The result for me after her professional and creative approach to my search for a gown, is confidence in my decision and a treasured wedding dress from the 2012 collection, which meant that I was the first bride to wear it.
I was ecstatic when Maria told me that she was moving to Copenhagen. I would recommend any fashion forward bride-to-be to go to Vintage Bride to find your wedding dress, you really wont be disappointed and I guarantee you’ll find ‘The one’ there.
Vintage Bride has seen so many exciting events take place so far this year. Maria has recently begun selling her specially designed veils made of the finest silks and has recently recently enjoyed trips to Barcelona, Paris and London, to view 2014 collections and you can see her blog to get a sneak preview of 2014 wedding dresses she is selecting for the boutique.
I have seen the selections personally and I can tell you, 2014 is going to be a year full of very beautifully dressed brides. I am sitting in anticipation, and I’m sure you are too!
