This post is part of The Getting Married in Copenhagen Guide where we have gathered everything you need to know about getting married in Copenhagen. If you are interested in getting married in Copenhagen, it’s a must-read, unless you just arrive from there, then you already know. 🙂
THE COPENHAGEN CITY HALL WEDDING OFFICE
The Copenhagen City Hall Wedding Office is run by a team of 10 to 15 people. They process, organise and conduct the ceremonies of almost 5000 couples a year. This includes both Danish weddings and international weddings like yours, but as you can imagine they are busy, this is why there can be as much as 3 to 4 weeks waiting time for processing.
We started working with the Copenhagen City Hall Wedding Office in 2014 and we are in contact with them, if not daily then at least three or four times a week. They are a lovely lot of people and if you do have your Wedding in Copenhagen then you will get to see for your self.
A small bit of bonus info about the Copenhagen City Hall Wedding Office. In the time between 1905 and 1926, nearly 2000 civil marriages were conducted. In the small capital, at a time where most people in Denmark got married at a religious ceremony, this is a rather high number of couples who choose to get married at a civil marriage.
THE ADMINISTRATION FEE
The Copenhagen City Hall Wedding Offices €117 fee covers the cost of the administrative work, such as checking your papers as described above, creating the marriage certificates, the time for the registrar when conducting the ceremony and the two wittiness, this fee is included in our service and paid for by us.
